Outreach Lesson Learned District17personnelmustcontinueculturalsensitivityandenvironmentalawarenesstrainingtomaintain thissuccessfulcommunityoutreach.Theoperations ordershouldincludecutteroutreachgoalsassecondarymissionsforeachofthedeployedcuttersinarea oftheNorthSlopeofAlaska. fromCGAirStationKodiakprovided70logisticssorties elivering1millionlbs.ofcargoandfuel;and —d conducted15Arcticdomainawarenesssortiesalong with34hoursoficereconnaissance.Thecommunicationsdetachmentcompletedmorethan1,200hoursof communityservicetoBarrowanddailycommunicationwatchstandingduties. Vessels AS12 deployednationalsecuritycutters,highendurancecutters,andmediumendurancecuttersforArcticdomainawareness,alongwithsearchandrescue, lawenforcementpresence,andsafetyzoneenforcementaroundthedrillrigsandsupportingvesselsat twoexploratorydrillingsites. Operations Theaviationforwardoperatinglocation in Barrow, Alaska, hosted two MH-60Jayhawkhelicoptersandaircrews,maintenancepersonnel,anda transportablecommunicationscenter andsupportingpersonnelforaviation communicationsintheregion.
