Locate, Disrupt, Detain Collaborative efforts thwart a pirate attack. by LCDR TYSON WEINERT Senior Aviator U.S. Coast Guard In April 2009, the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Boutwell deployed to high-risk waters in the Gulf of Aden to conduct anti-piracy patrols. As a result, the cutter successfully disrupted a pirate attack just weeks after the pirate takeover of the container ship M/V Maersk Alabama.
